“A Mrs Blakeley Moment”-AIMS program:
Sandra Felix is a 2024 early WCS graduate. The other day she came to visit me, walking in tall and proud with that great big smile of hers, to personally share that she got into the college she wanted! Tears of pride!!!!
Felix (as she likes to be called) was in my program at Gateway and finished her Core 40 requirements while working 2 jobs!
Felix will be the first person to graduate with a high school diploma in her family.
Felix had such an impact on her mom… her mom is now studying to get her GED.
Felix NEVER gave up and continues to work towards her dreams
Why is Gateway a good fit for some students?
Felix says:
Gateway has helped by allowing me to achieve my goals and get a head start on my college journey. I’ve been able to start applying earlier in the year for college which will give me more of a chance of getting into colleges that tend to fill up pretty quickly. I was able work at my own pace and study my own way.
Felix mom says:
Gateway helped Sandra work towards her future. She learned how to work hard to achieve her goals, by going to Gateway she learned that working hard can help you move forward. The staff at Gateway showed Sandra that she matters. And you’re not defined by your circumstances and can always reach your dreams and now has goals for college!
