During April, the classroom with the most Via Credit Union deposits will win a Donut Party and $50 gift card for the class! Be sure to keep track of how your class is doing on the tally board near the Student Branch. The Jefferson Student Branch is open every Friday across from the office before school and accepts deposits only. If you would like your child to start saving at the Jefferson Student Branch, please complete a permission slip and return it along with their initial deposit. A clean aquarium is a happy aquarium! The Jefferson Library's aquarium, on loan from Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams, gets a thorough cleaning once about every three weeks. This maintains a healthy, fresh environment for our largemouth bass, perch, sunfish, and channel catfish to be able to thrive and grow. ​ Before the end of our school year, students from Grace College will relocate our matured fish and aquarium back to Lilly Center. When the 2025–26 school year begins in August, a new group of young fish will arrive at Jefferson to enthrall and delight next year's Spartans. ​ We are so grateful to Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams for this incredible experience for our Jefferson students! ​ Side note: Did you know that fish can get constipated and stop eating?! Mrs. Propp (library) learned this recently when her usually voracious eaters became disinterested in their pellets. Lilly Center proved to be a valuable resource, sending a student over to assess what might be the cause. The water quality was tested first, but nothing out of the ordinary was discovered. Then it was suggested that the fish could "need a little help," so Lilly Center staff brought over some frozen peas for Mrs. Propp to use as food. It worked! The fish are all eating "regularly" again. Whew! #WarsawINSPIRES

We are once again teaming up with Hacienda in Warsaw for a Gives Back Fiesta, scheduled for Thursday, March 6th! Mark your calendars now, because this is a fantastic way to support Jefferson while getting some yummy food. #WarsawINSPIRES

Tonight's STEM Night has been postponed until NEXT TUESDAY, March 4th.

Congratulations to the talented students of Edgewood, Lakeview, and the 6th Grade Band for their outstanding performances at the Solo & Ensemble Contest held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Northwood High School. Remarkably, all participating students earned a GOLD Division Rating, collectively bringing home 36 GOLD Medals. Band director Mr. Peloza expressed his pride, stating, "I am so proud of all the students for their hard work and dedication in preparing their music." #WarsawInspires

Jefferson's choir club, Spartan Singers, under the direction of Mrs. Engler (Music), traveled to Grace Village Retirement Community on Monday, February 10th, where they brought smiles of joy to those in attendance. Spartan Singers performed their songs from "Disney Celebration" in advance of their school concert the following evening. Spartan Singers consists of 3rd–6th graders who voluntarily practice with Mrs. Engler once a week during their lunch recess. Additionally, approximately 40 snowman crafts, which were created by Jefferson Family Groups, were also taken along and gifted to residents. #WarsawINSPIRES

February is Heart Health Month.

Today in STEM Specials, we kicked off The STEAM of Pinball with our guest speaker, Jeff Murphy! For the next three weeks (and beyond!), we hope to spark excitement with our Spartans, as we dive into this engaging learning experience. #WarsawINSPIRES

We are happy to report the safe arrival of our newest Spartan, Cohen Tyler Snyder, born to 5th-grade teacher Mrs. Snyder on Monday, January 27th. Mom, Cohen, Big Brother, and Dad are all doing well! #WarsawINSPIRES (Photos and info used with permission.)

The dentist is coming to our school on March 4th! The School Smiles on-site dental program provides on-site dental care at our school for ALL students that sign up to participate. The dental team will set up inside our school, and they accept Medicaid, private insurance, offer self-pay rates and grants through their foundation. Registration is now open online at: www.schoolsmiles.com/student-signup with over 100 languages to choose from when completing the online form.
