Washington STEM Academy is celebrating the astronomical success of their annual Hornet Holiday Helpers (HHH2022) Christmas.
Another incredible year! Wow!
A call for help went out to the community earlier this season and the response was overwhelming. Families wishing to help received applications from Hornets that contained the wish lists of boys and girls. All items were delivered to Washington wrapped last week.
A huge thank you to all donors, shoppers, wrappers, deliverers, and campaign organizers.
Over 126 children (43 families) will have gifts under their tree this year. For so many, this season can be stressful and challenging. Washington STEM Academy saw this and set out on a mission to share this opportunity with the community. With grateful hearts, Hornet Holiday Helpers has again surpassed all expectations.
The monetary donations dropped off at the office were used to complete Washington families' wish lists. (Gifts are for children in the household under the age of 18 years old.)
One family shared their story of understanding what it was like to not have the means to give their children Christmas gifts - and they were helped by others - but now that their circumstances have improved, they wanted to "pay it forward" with a generous cash donation to purchase gifts for other families who are now in the position they once were.
Washington STEM Academy would like to thank donors, staff, students, and the community including the following businesses: Grace College; Texas Roadhouse; Mudlove; and Warsaw Orthodontics. These acts of generosity will help ensure all Hornets have a great holiday!
Everyone gave their time, talents, and resources to make this happen! A special thank you to Tiffany O'Malley, Administrative Assistant to the Principal, for her leadership in coordinating the effort.
