Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) would like to share some reminders for families and community members to ensure the safety of our students, especially those students who walk or ride bikes to school.
As we welcome warmer weather, more of our students will be walking or riding bikes to school. We urge all drivers to be particularly vigilant in school zones and residential areas. Watch carefully for students crossing the street and always yield to pedestrians.
We also encourage parents and guardians to discuss the importance of obeying traffic signals and taking time to look both ways before crossing with their children. We recommend walking to school whenever possible, but for those students who choose to ride bikes, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended to ensure their safety.
