Nurse Himes

Warsaw Community Schools is proud to announce that Rachelle Himes, school nurse at Leesburg Elementary, has been named the 2025 Indiana School Nurse of the Year.

Each year, the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) recognizes outstanding school nurses across the country, honoring one recipient from each state who exemplifies excellence in school nursing practice and leadership in school health. After a unanimous vote, the Indiana Association of School Nurses (IASN) Board Members selected Nurse Himes as Indiana’s recipient for this prestigious award.

Nurse Himes will be formally honored at the National Association of School Nurses Conference in Austin, Texas, in June, where school health professionals from across the country will gather to celebrate excellence in the field. She will also be recognized at the IASN State Conference in November.

A dedicated advocate for student health and well-being, Nurse Himes goes above and beyond to ensure that students receive compassionate care, support, and health education. Her leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on the Leesburg Elementary community and Warsaw Community Schools as a whole.

“We are incredibly proud of Nurse Himes for this well-deserved recognition,” said Nathan Polston, Leesburg Principal. “Her commitment to the health and success of our students is unmatched, and we are grateful for her service to our school community.”

Please join us in congratulating Nurse Rachelle Himes on this outstanding achievement!
