Mrs. Fisher's 7th grade social studies classes have been growing wheat grass as part of their study of the Ancient River Valley Civilizations. Wheat was one of the earliest domesticated crops. Students were in small teams and were given 2 cups to start their seeds in: one with potting soil and one with a cube of "rock wool." They were to decide how much water to give their seeds and how often. Once the seeds began to grow, they transplanted the rock wool seedlings into the grow tower and had the option of taking their potting soil cups home. Now we are enjoying watching our wheat grass living and growing in our grow tower. #ExperienceWCS #EdgewoodSTEM
