Congratulations to Makayla Riley who competed in an FFA forestry contest.
She competed in the senior division as she did not have enough people to make a middle school team. During the contest, she had to identify different tree leaves, seeds, different kinds of wood, tree diseases, and insects, and also take a 50-question written exam.
Makayla placed 3rd overall out of 72 high schoolers. She got a PERFECT score on the exam, a PERFECT score on the seed identification, and a PERFECT score on the tree disease category, qualifying for the state contest as an individual. Additionally, her team was awarded first place by 472 points! She and her team will be competing at the State competition on December 10th.
Congrats again and we wish you & all WCS FFA Competitors the best!
