Welcome!

We are excited to welcome families and new students into our schools. Families who choose to live in the Warsaw Community School district have something in common: They place a high value on education and have high expectations for schools.

Warsaw Community Schools are committed to meeting and exceeding those expectations. We are dedicated to providing your child with a top-quality education that is both challenging and exciting, and we’ll work to meet your child’s individual needs.

If you are new to the community, you will find that Kosciusko County is a great place to raise a family. Parents are involved in their children’s lives and our communities truly put children first!

The Central Office is open:

  • During the school year Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 4:00pm
  • Summer months: Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
    • Throughout the summer, there will be several opportunities for in-person registration support, which will be communicated to families through Parent Square. Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten

Registration

 

Children entering kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 1 of the school year in which they are enrolling.

Families new to Warsaw Community Schools can complete the registration process online through the district website.

To register a new kindergarten student:

  1. Complete the online pre-registration process (link below).
  2. Submit the required enrollment documents.
  3. Watch for communication from your child's school regarding next steps and required registration forms.

Families new to Warsaw Community Schools can complete the registration process online through the district website.

To register a new student:

  1. Complete the online pre-registration process (link below).
  2. Submit the required enrollment documents.
  3. Watch for communication from your child's school regarding next steps and required registration forms.

All currently enrolled students in grades K-11 must complete annual registration before the start of each school year.

To register a returning student:

  1. Log in to your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
  2. Select Forms from the navigation menu.
  3. Complete and submit all required registration forms for each student.

The registration process typically takes less than 10 minutes per student to complete.

Student Transfers

Warsaw Community Schools offers both in-district and out-of-district transfer opportunities when space is available.

Whether your family is interested in a specialized program, has recently moved, or is seeking a different school assignment, we're here to help you understand the process.

Important: Submission of a transfer request does not guarantee approval or placement.

  • For students who live within Warsaw Community Schools boundaries but wish to attend a school other than their assigned school.

    Common Reasons

    • Elementary School Eligibility

      • Students may request an in-district transfer for the following reasons:

        • Family moves during or at the end of the school year and wishes to remain in their current school
        • Student lives in the same household as a sibling already attending the requested school
        • Student's parent is a Warsaw Community Schools employee
          • Desire to attend a specialized program:
            • STEM
              • Transfers between STEM schools are not permitted.
            • Dual Language Immersion (DLI)
            • Leader in Me
          • Childcare provider resides within the requested school's attendance area
    • Middle School Eligibility

      • Students may request an in-district transfer for the following reasons:

        • Family moves during or at the end of the school year and wishes to remain in their current school
        • Student lives in the same household as a sibling already attending the requested school
        • Student's parent is a Warsaw Community Schools employee
        • Desire to attend a specialized program:
          • STEM
          • Dual Language Immersion (DLI)
        • Student completed 6th grade through a private school or homeschool program

    How to Apply: Current WCS Families

    1. Contact your school office.
    2. Complete the transfer form assigned through PowerSchool Enrollment.
  • For students who live outside Warsaw Community Schools boundaries but wish to attend WCS.

    Common Reasons

    • Family moves during or at the end of the school year and wishes to remain in their current school

    • Student lives in the same household as a sibling already attending the requested school

    • Student's parent is a Warsaw Community Schools employee

    • Desire to attend a specific school
    • Desire to attend a specialized program:

      • STEM

      • Leader-in-Me

      • Dual Language Immersion (DLI)

    • For elementary students: Childcare provider resides within the requested school's attendance area

    How to Apply: New Families

    1. Complete student pre-registration.
    2. Complete enrollment forms.
    3. Submit the transfer request when prompted.
  • A student who initially enrolls in one of the Warsaw Community Schools is required to provide:

    • (1) evidence of immunizations;
    • (2) the name and address of the school the student last attended if any;
    • (3) a certified copy of the student’s birth certificate or other reliable proof of the student’s date of birth;
    • (4) transcript (Secondary Level Only).
    • (5) proof of residency

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Families approved for an in-district or out-of district transfer to a school other than their school of residence are responsible for transportation.

  • Approval just guarantees placement within Warsaw Community Schools. Placement depends on available space at the requested school and grade level. 

  • A public lottery will be conducted when applications exceed available seats.

  • Yes. Requests may be denied due to capacity limitations, attendance concerns, disciplinary history, transportation limitations, or other factors outlined in district guidelines.

  • Generally, no. Mid-year transfer requests are only considered in rare circumstances involving significant hardship, safety concerns, or other situations approved by district administration.

  • Middle school placement is based on your child's elementary attendance area (school of residence).

    • Washington STEM Academy

    Lakeview Middle School feeder schools:

    • Eisenhower Elementary
    • Harrison Elementary
    • Leesburg Elementary
    • Lincoln Elementary

    If your child currently attends an elementary school on an approved transfer, you may have additional middle school options. During the spring of your child's 6th grade year, Warsaw Community Schools will notify families whose school of residence differs from their current school of attendance and provide information about available middle school choices.
